Midge Point and surrounds are part of the traditional lands of the Yuwibara and Gia people.

In 1938 the first town land sites of Midgeton (later renamed Midge Point in 1973) were sold, intended to be the ‘principal seaside resort of Proserpine’, it was noted for its splendid fishing.

Today, Midge Point remains a beautiful seaside community with excellent boating and fishing opportunities.

Outlook

If current trends continue a mix of working families with children and empty nesters/retirees. Resident are anticipated to be employed across mining, agriculture and construction. Midge Point projected to maintain its focus of primarily stand-alone houses with growth anticipated to be driven by coastal retirement and rural residential living.
